Let's Go Bowling!

Font sizeAfter our kitchen and bathroom remodel was complete we decided to take our boys out for a fun activity. When Family Home Evening arrived we loaded up in the van and headed out to go bowling. We went to Valley Lanes in Kearns where they have a special on Monday nights and no leagues trying to bowl. We were able to bowl two games for just $24. Not a bad deal. Our boys had a blast!

Tanner liked to approach the lane at a run and then release the ball. One time after doing that he landed flat on his bottom.

Ethan took a more cautious approach, but was a great little bowler. I think he could have done it all night.
Bradon was so funny. He loved bowling from the very beginning and thought that he had it down. He helped either Brian or I when it was our turn.
He needed a little bit of help, but felt so big.

When the ball would hit the pins at the end of the lane he would raise his arms above his head and do a little dance on his tip-toes. So adorable.

A couple of weeks later it was time to go out for a family activity with Brian's family before his brother Danny left on his mission to Brazil. Danny loves bowling so instead of going out to eat we went bowling, this time at Delton Lanes in West Valley just a few minutes from our house. Danny is a crazy good bowler so it was fun to see his special touch.
This time we got Bradon a little ramp to push the ball down. He liked to do it either way.
Tanner used the ramp as well, but once again he would begin with a running start and then push the ball off the ramp. Somehow that running start really helps. Here's my little bowling crew. We're far from professionals, but we have a lot of fun!
Towards the end of the third game we played things got a little crazy. Patra taught Tanner how to bowl by laying on their bellies and Tanner thought that was just great and it made a nice variation from the regular game.
Here's the whole crew. It took three lanes to accommodate all of us, and we were even missing Austin and FayLyn's family.

Thanks for a really fun afternoon/evening of bowling! It was a great activity and we'll have to see whether Danny can maintain his superior bowling skills when he returns from Brazil in two years.
