This is my first year having two children in elementary school. Since Tanner is in kindergarten the first week of school was a time to come in, meet the teacher and do some testing. He was so excited to see his new classroom and couldn't wait for school to start.
The first day of school for Ethan ended with a terrific rainstorm. Here we are driving to school to pick Ethan up from his first day of second grade. The rain was pouring down creating quite a noise inside the car.
Run Ethan! Run!
He made it to the car before it started to rain even harder and even hail a bit.
The noise was just too much for Bradon. Happy First Day of School Ethan!
Ethan and Tanner were happy to be going to school together once kindergarten started up. I got to tag along for the first few minutes on the first day.
The anticipation was high as the kids lined up to wait to be brought into the school.
First Tanner made a stop to hang up his backpack.
Then to his desk to complete his first assignment. He was loving every minute.
Tanner was not the least bit concerned about me leaving him. He was all smiles, full of excitement. Some kids were having a hard time, but not Tanner.
I got a little teary waving goodbye to him, but he was good.
His teacher is Miss Stout and she is just wonderful. He loves her to pieces. In September he went off track for a few weeks and when they went back to school on Monday Tanner told me that Miss Stout was so excited to have them back that she couldn't wipe the smile off her face. So far school has been treating Tanner very well.
Ethan had a permanent substitute at the beginning of the year because his assigned teacher was sick. I think that was a little unsettling to him, and after a few weeks another substitute took her place, so his first few weeks have already been full of change. However, the second substitute was hired on as a teacher since his original teacher has decided not to return to school. I met Mrs. Johnson this week and she seems very nice so I hope the rest of the school year is a great one for Ethan as well.
