Michael and Hailey were the first on the scene in the morning. We owe a big thanks to everyone who helped us including both sets of parents, Austin, Michael, Hailey, Sarah, Mat, Sam, Rachel, and Karl. Also our former bishop and the other bishopric counselor, Josh came over to lend a hand. We also had some ward members show up too! We were so blessed! It turned out that after several cross country moves Austin is an expert packer. He and Michael expertly manned the truck fitting all of our stuff into every nook and cranny.
By noon on Saturday all of our stuff had been crammed into the U-Haul and several vehicles, the house was cleaned, and everything was unloaded at our new place. What an amazing team of helpers we had! Words can't express how grateful we felt. Thanks to everyone who helped with the heavy lifting, the cleaning and all of the other miscellaneous tasks of the day.
Somehow I didn't end up with any pictures of all of stuff at our new place. After living here for 2 1/2 months I think we're feeling pretty settled. There are still some boxes to go through, but obviously none of it is too pressing. We have so much space at our new place and we LOVE it! Bradon had a bit of a difficult time adjusting. It's hard to explain to a 2 year old why you're not living at "your house" anymore, but after a few weeks he finally settled in and started sleeping through the night again. Ethan and Tanner love their new room and bunkbed and they especially love all of the kids in the neighborhood. There are always lots of friends available for play. I love the safe feeling of our neighborhood and the quiet street that we live on. We don't have much traffic on our street and everyone in the area is aware that there are plenty of kids in the neighborhood so no one drives too fast.
We didn't have to do too much to the house upon moving in. Brian painted the upstairs bedrooms (with help from Chris, Susie and his dad) and we had new carpet installed in the three children's bedrooms. Besides some minor things that's all we've had to do. It's been fabulous! We miss our old friends from our neighborhood and ward and we're slowly getting acquainted with the people in our new area. I'm sure it will take awhile to feel a part of things here, but our new house really does feel like home.
