Epcot

Our second full day in Walt Disney World started off by a quick trip over to the Magic Kingdom for the Little Ones Early Morning. Fantasyland was open an hour early and they had lots of characters out. If my boys were more into the characters I'm sure they would have loved it, but they didn't care too much about them. We did have fun riding the rides though. We rode Winnie the Pooh, Peter Pan and It's a Small World. It was so hot already and it was only 8 in the morning!

After grabbing a snack at the Main Street Bakery we boarded the monorail and headed for Epcot. We rode a few rides and then it was time for our lunch reservation at the Le Cellier, the steakhouse in the Canada Pavilion. I'd read a lot of great reviews of this restaurant online, and it didn't disappoint. It's tough to get a reservation there, so we felt lucky that we were able to eat lunch there. They had great steaks and the creme brulee dessert was really great. This was also the first of three restaurants where we broke a glass! It was a nice lunch though. If this restaurant were located anywhere besides Walt Disney World it probably would have been a fancy place to eat.

After an afternoon break we returned later in the evening to quickly tour part of the World Showcase. I think this was the first time I've been to Disney World where we didn't have time to see the films or linger in the pavilions of the different countries. Traveling with young children slows you down a bit, and we did cater the touring to their interests a bit more. That meant not much time for the World Showcase. Once again it rained during the evening and so that cleared out the park a bit. We headed to Germany to grab some dinner. About 20 minutes before Illuminations started the boys and I found a spot to watch the fireworks while mom and dad got us some German food. We had a great spot for watching Illuminations and we didn't even have to wait an hour for a spot. That was a real treat. Tanner wasn't much for the fireworks. He covered his ears with his hands. He's not one for loud noises. Although we didn't get to see much it was still a fun day.
