Early Summer Road Trip to Denver

More pictures of the kids chasing the geese in the Denver Park.
We had dinner that night at the White Fence Farm. We had eaten here once on a family vacation many years ago. I remembered it as being a really fun place and it was. My boys enjoyed the hot chocolate.
Bradon loved the fried chicken and we celebrated his upcoming first birthday with a cute little cake. After dinner we went outside to explore the grounds. First stop: the fish pond.
The babies were stuck in the stroller.
Next stop: the park.
Inside one of the buildings the kids discovered this statue of Thomas Jefferson. Tanner had a hay day here. He loved posing for the camera in all kinds of ridiculous ways

Check out this grin!
The kids especially enjoyed the carriage ride around the grounds. They felt very special.
On Saturday we had a really great day at a local swimming pool/water park. Ethan fell in love with the place and probably would have stayed there all day had we let them. They had a lot of fun slides for kids of all ages and a great tube ride as well. We had a lot of fun there.
Later in the day we tried to go up to the mountains for a picnic and some fishing, but when we got to the spot Jeff wanted to show us the road was closed. We were disappointed since we could see that it would have been a really beautiful spot. We went to a little lake to try some fishing, but it was cold and getting late by that point so we headed back home passing through Boulder along the way. Back at Jeff & Rachel's Grandpa entertained the kids with a story.
On Sunday we were on the way to church when suddenly I spotted a tornado out the window. It really was a tornado and about the same time it started hailing. Tanner got a little scared and it was a crazy experience. The tornado wasn't too close, so all was well and it was neat to see a tornado in person. It turned out that three tornadoes touched down that day.
On Monday we headed to the Children's Museum of Denver. This place was really cute and the kids had a great time here. They had a playhouse and garden.
Upstairs Tanner and Anna discovered their inner artist by doing lots of painting.
Bradon acted liked he wanted to paint, but he really just wanted to eat the paint!
We also managed to squeeze in a visit to the Denver Zoo. This place was very big and we just couldn't fit it all in! It was a beautiful day and the kids had a great time. I love this picture of Rachel and Anna on the train.
The carousel was another treat that the kids enjoyed.
Bradon even enjoyed the carousel.
We had such a fabulous trip to Denver. Thanks to Jeff, Rachel, Anna & Isaac for generously letting us crash at their place and eat all their food. We had such a great time and Ethan especially loved Denver. He would like both sets of grandparents to move there if possible so that he can move there too. Denver was great! As Jeff would say "Denver: where life is good and the livin' is easy!" Thanks Jeff & Rachel!
